James Harden has been tearing up the NBA this year and honestly, it’s been one spectacular show. Harden already won NBA MVP last season and it appears as though he is well on his way to repeating. Harden has been on a pretty massic scoring streak as of late, scoring 30 points or more in his last 31 games. The only player to have had a longer streak is Wilt Chamberlain. It’s pretty easy to say that Harden is in great company with that one. During an interview with Rachel Nichols of ESPN, Harden spoke about the streak and explained how he’s just trying to make sure the team can win games.

“The scoring streak is obviously amazing, but it’s something that I just had to do because of our situation,” Harden explained. “We had all the injuries and guys in and out of the lineup and things like that. So I think the streak just started happening, and now it’s like something to talk about. But it’s not something that I’m really honestly focused on. That’s something I have to do in order to give us a chance to win the game.”

Harden has averaged 41.5 points during his streak and has helped the Rockets get to a 33-24 record in the Western Conference.
