Future Discusses ‘The WIZRD,’ Quitting Lean, & “King’s Dead” on Genius’ ‘For the Record’

With a matter of days left until Future fires off his seventh studio album, Future Hndrxx Presents: The WIZRD, he took some time to sit down with Rob Markman in the latest installment of Genius’ For The Record series.

Sitting with Rob for just over twenty minutes, Future kicks off the interview by revealing the concept behind the album title, what we can expect from it and what it was like to have cameras following him for the new documentary.

Moving to the halfway point, he talks about being hesitant to tell his fans that he stopped drinking lean as well as opening up about the death of his close friend and engineer Seth Firkins. Bringing things to a close, Rob and Future take a trip to the past to discuss Future’s contributions to YC’s “Racks” and Ace Hood’s “Bugatti.”
